Who We Are
ABOUT FIRST SOUTH CAROLINA
FIRST South Carolina works to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders in South Carolina by providing access to the FIRST progression of programs, from FIRST LEGO® League to the FIRST Robotics Competition, ranging from ages 4 to 18 years old. We organize competitive events in all three FIRST programs as well as non-competitive, showcase, training, workshops and informative events.
We work with South Carolina school districts, individual schools, teachers, parents and community groups to provide support needed to effectively and provocatively teach K-12 STEM through the implementation of FIRST programs. We are engaged in education through professional development, enrichment activities for students, and public advocacy – all designed to engage and inspire students in STEM fields.
What We Do
The mission of FIRST South Carolina is to transform the employment horizon and opportunities for our South Carolina students through a fun and engaging exposure to STEM concepts in a holistic educational experience.
